Hello California!

PA104755a

Remember my post about the goodie swapping site? Well, what do you know - my first swap is completed, and to make things even more pleasant, it was done with somebody that works almost in the same field as me.

The package contained lots of books that made me drool just by looking at them, a taco kit, pecan nuts, chipotle peanuts, postcards, cat stickers, Hello Kitty stuff (which made Timi drool), Harry Potter jellybeans and .. I’m sure I forgot one or two things. Oh yes. Fish crackers. And a plushie cat. And the most important things - the drawings of her two little ones about their pets. Too bad I didn’t had the same idea.

I loved how this swap turned out  - P, many many thanks for all the care you’ve put into preparing it. I hope you and the girls liked what I’ve sent just as much as we enjoyed your gifts.

Wow!! Looks like you are having fun with the swapping… perhaps I will give it a go once Zoe has stopped kicking me from the insides.

  2. Mist1:

    Fish crackers?

I once had cookies in Japan that tasted like fish. I like fish as much as the next person, but this was going too far.

BTW, let me know if you need psych research articles. As a PhD student here I have access to several data bases (such as PsychInfo). Many of the recent articles (especially those from good journals) are full-text, downloadable in pdf format. I remember having a hard time getting more than an abstract while in Romania. Maybe this has changed, but if not, just email me when you need any.

Mrs S - please do ..I can’t wait to go shopping some newborn items ;)

Mist - my bad. I meant goldfish crackers - just the shape being fish-like, not the taste.

Ionuka - I’ll definitely would like to take on your offer - the lack of available full articles still exists, and is just as frustrating as you remember it.

I’m so glad your package made it there, and almost everything was in one piece! I guess you can sprinkle the broken tacos on top of things. :-) I am glad you like everything, and it makes me happy that my extra books have gone to a good home. We are certainly delighted with the things you sent us. We’ve been having a lot of fun looking at the books, and I can’t wait to be able to begin stitching. This was a great swap!

I forgot to add, goldfish crackers are extremely popular among kids here. They’re practically a food group unto themselves. I’m always finding them scattered in the back of my car.

  7. apricoco:

would you like a recipie to go with those pecans? I can send you a good one for pecan pie… =)

  8. Romerican:

    Bwahahaha… fish crackers!

That had me REALLY confused as to what in the world that could POSSIBLY be. Like Mist, I began to imagine some horribly nasty crackers somehow flavored like fish by some nutjob company.

But then I read dephal’s comment that explains it all. Goldish crackers. Heh. Now I know exactly what they are and know Timi probably loves ‘em.

  9. admin:

We have goldfish crackers around here too, called “pestisori” (small fish). I just didn’t translate the term properly.

Apricoco -mail/post comment with that pecan pie, please?

  10. adena:

Yes, but Goldfish crackers are the “snack that smiles back”. :)
